Cookie Policy

1. What are cookies

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. This landing page remembers your privacy choice. Analytics is available only on configured landing-page hosts and requires your permission. Application sign-in cookies are separate.

2. Types of cookies we use

Essential — required for the Service to function (authentication, security). Without these, you cannot sign in. Example: criterai_session (authentication). Consent is not required because the Service cannot operate without these cookies.

Analytics/performance: if analytics becomes available and you accept, PostHog may measure landing-page visits, CTA clicks, form launches and supported experiments; Google Analytics 4 may measure traffic and explicit page views. Microsoft Clarity is deferred and does not load, including after acceptance. Production analytics stays off on preview and local pages. When available, they may use identifiers such as ph_* and _ga only with accepted analytics consent.

Functional — remember your preferences (such as your cookie-consent choice and UI state). Example: criter_cookie_consent. These store your own choice only.

No marketing/targeting (advertising) cookies are used during beta.

3. Our analytics tools

In the application we use PostHog as our product-analytics provider. During beta, PostHog "autocapture" is enabled, capturing clicks, taps, form submissions, the text content of clicked elements, scroll and mouse movement (heatmaps), page-performance metrics ("web vitals"), and the pages you visit. We apply the ph-no-capture class to known sensitive inputs (chat-message fields, profile-form fields) so their contents are not captured where possible. PostHog processes data in the United States. PostHog’s privacy policy is at posthog.com/privacy and its subprocessor list at posthog.com/subprocessors.

On this landing page, PostHog autocapture, session replay, console recording, surveys, exceptions and heatmaps are disabled. If analytics becomes available, collection will be limited to approved events and coarse traffic-source categories, with your permission. Google Analytics 4 also processes data in the United States. Google’s privacy policy is at policies.google.com/privacy, and Clarity remains disabled. Advertising storage, advertising user data and advertising personalization remain denied.

4. Managing cookies

The landing-page banner offers Accept analytics, Reject analytics and Manage cookies. Accept and Reject each take one click. Essential privacy-choice storage stays on. If your browser prevents saving a change, it applies to the current page. We try to remove the old stored choice. If the browser also blocks removal, the previous choice may return after a reload; you can clear site data in your browser settings.

You can change your choice at any time using Manage cookies in the landing-page or legal-page footer. Changing your choice does not close the signup form. Analytics is permitted only with your consent, and we attempt to clear site-owned analytics identifiers when you withdraw. Events recorded before you withdraw may finish sending. Future tracking stops, and data already transmitted cannot be recalled. Reaccepting analytics after it has run requires a new page. An explicit refresh may discard unfinished signup entries. Analytics stays disabled when its privacy requirements cannot be met.

5. Third-party cookies

If made available, PostHog and Google Analytics 4 may set analytics cookies subject to your consent. Microsoft Clarity remains deferred. Opening the signup form is a separate visitor action. The unchanged external Google Form is governed by Google’s privacy policy and may use its own storage. Opening or loading it is not a completed signup. No advertising consent is granted by the landing page.

6. Browser controls

Most browsers allow you to refuse or delete cookies via their settings. Note that disabling essential cookies will prevent you from signing in.

7. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
